went to order another 100 NGK spark plug caps today to be told by our Australian supplier that NGK have withdrawn them from the market, NGK have been having trouble sourcing the material to make them so no more NGK Spark plug caps
Is this an Australian issue, are they still available on the international market?
Anyone know?

I bought some plug caps the other week - I have feeling now that I have probably bought the wrong ones 😄

Had to hunt for an alternative supplier to my usual (sparkplugs.co.uk) back in Jan for the angled plug cap (XB05F). They still show it on back order now. The straight version is in stock (SB05F).
Doesn't really answer your question Red, so I've pinged them an email.

Have them on stock at LOUIS in Austria at least "Buy NGK spark plug connector SB05F | Louis motorcycle - clothing and technology" https://m.louis.at/artikel/ngk-zuendkerzenstecker-sb05f/10035300?filter_article_number=10035302

Found a bunch in Spain, so stocked up , thanks for the heads up Red

I heard Laverda have been discontinued, better stock up. 😊 Seriously though it was an angled NGK cap that led to my BFN DNF in Northern France. That and having Covid.

Bought a pair LB05Fs from Gowanloch - didn't say they weren't in stock but virtually every other google hit did. They were half price at Gowanlochs - like $5.60 ea!!

picked 6 up for the two triples at 4.75 euros a piece and 6 for the twins at 5.75 eu a piece, that should keep me going a bit, prices are all over the place here, from those ones I paid up to 16 a piece!

Are those correct for use with the Nology coils? 77 3cl. I just looked in the box and they come with small rubber caps..
Paul
NGK items in question go on the spark plugs, think you are getting mixed up with the boots that Nology supply to connect the leads to the actual coils

NGK plug caps come in a range of different configurations. If it's a materials sourcing problem that's caused them to stop, then I presume they've stopped making the entire range.

That's going to be a problem for people with old bikes and cars because NGK have the lion's share of the plug cap market. You occasionally see the odd Lucas or Champion plug cap, but I reckon 90% of bikes have NGK.

Modern bikes and cars may not be so much affected because a lot of them use the coil over plug system.

I wonder what material they're unable to source. It's hard to believe there's anything particularly rare in a plug cap. Just a bit of plastic, copper and maybe a graphite resistor.

Another nail in the coffin of internal combustion engines?

There's always the possibility it's temporary and will sort itself out once the world is largely over Covid and the odd shortages it's brought.
Repco here still have a huge amount of NGK plugs on backorder.
