Colour?

This winter I am sorting the correct colour for my 1976 Laverda 3CL, currently the tank in painted orange {(n)yes I know☹️}. I have previously resisted the original green colour as I just kept telling myself I didn't like it, recently the colour has grown on me and I have decided to go with it. I think the colour I need is RAL 6002 GL, I would appreciate it if the forum would corroborate my findings. The tank pictured is a 3cl, this machine is in the Lakeland Motor Museum which is in my locality. This particular machine has a, engine/frame number within 100 units of mine and I am of the opinion that this is quite original.

I bought a brand new later tank from Piet with the straight badges in the pea green colour with black pinstripes. I have just painted some side panels to match and RAL 6002 was ideal.

This is all very helpful Gentlemen, thank you very much for all your help. I purchased the machine around four years ago in orange and silver livery. Over time I have worked on the originality of the motorcycle with stuff like headlamp/headlamp brackets/clocks etc. But moving on the outside of Laverda circles I can see the machine is actually in bad taste, people say "is it a Jota"?
The frame on this machine is silver and having done a little digging I have read that there were some 1000's in the silver and green livery-is this true? Either way I have grown to love this motorcycle, it really is a true thoroughbred and I would like to make it as good as I can. I will now go ahead with the colour change and when it's done I might even show it on here.
Thanks to all!!

RAL 6002 GL is a colour I had listed on Laverdamania when I first repainted the bike after buying it back. It is an Alpha Romeo green, from memory used on the Sud and was the closest match we could find. I went to use it again when I did the last refurb but found it was available in a top coat only so went with 6029. Then when I painted the Boba carbon I went with Yorkshire Electrical Board Green :ROFLMAO:

Glad to hear the Laverda is getting a makeover 😉
Hello Adam,
Long time no hear, I hope that you and the Memsahib are well! I have a few jobs I'm doing just now-the forks are at Phillpotts for hard chroming, so I will be rebuilding the forks and I am replacing the discs as the feel of the brakes isn't as I'd like, {calipers have been refurbed}.
Take care!!

4045, delivered September 1976

If you are going to do a full repaint, get the frame checked for cracks at the headstock and then get it braced - https://www.laverdaforum.com/xf/threads/95840/page-5#post-513411
Good Advice with regards to the frame-thank you. Now you've got me thinking, your machine was delivered in September, with my machine being the number it is {4906} could it be 1977, I think I will have to do some research?
Thanks for the info!!

I have had a look at Yorkshire board green, they've painted their Defenders in it, that's a pretty good match, are you ex Yorkshire Leccy Board?

I've had a look on Laverda mania and found 4045 which is an Australian market model, the nearest one to mine listed in 4908 which went to Spain. I have still much to learn!

So you just figured out that I am a long way from Yorkshire :D. Just went through the colours at my friendly paint supplier looking for a basecoat green that matched my memory of the "Pea Green" bike as I had first bought it and that was the colour that hit. I think it was a couple of years later that silver frames appeared in the UK and Europe but I know of several red and green 3CLs in Oz that were silver framed on delivery, mine included.
