... They`re talking about boost , but it says blower on the needs attention list ..... so presumably it`s supercharged rather than turbo .......

I like how they keep it from overheating at standstill by aiming what looks like a leaf blower at it .......

Strange to think that hidden in there somewhere is a 500 ..... ( now 650 , according to the c/case stamp ) ...... single , originally manufactured at Hall Green , Birmingham , by blokes who had to carry oil heaters with them into work during the winter , so they could keep warm ......

... All that sky , all that space .... you Australians don`t realise how lucky you are ........

The weather has a tendency to not cooperate at that salt Lake, it's a very long way from anywhere on a very bad dirt road for a few hundred ks and either 40c plus or underwater with little notice and it being run or cancelled till the last minute. From what I heard nobody expected it to be run this year and then suddenly they got a brake and ran for less time than the usual event. It's still on my bucket list to see happen.

It must be geared to the moon, especially with a 4-speed, I wonder if it leaves the line on its clutch or needs pushing till its gearing works. Brilent anyway you cut it.
 
We built a bike for a guy called Turbo Rick who eventually joined the 200 mph club at El Mirage dry lake. The big problem they all have is traction on salt or dirt trying to push the bike against the air. Eventually they hit the wall of wind resistance and the tire breaks traction and spins without pushing the bike any faster. Lots of guys can build the motors and make the power to theoretically get the speed. But actually doing it is difficult. Turbo Rick had about 100kg of lead on the swingarm of the bike to try to get the back tire to hookup on the dry lake. Jet cars have it easy and so do the guys who run at airstrips.
