Yep, the trick is just enough to get the arse bones off the surface. Same with lightweight camping mats (hip bones off the deck).
There anoyingly good; I thought getting my seat done by a highlt recomended amoung the long distance touring blokes would remove the need for an Air Hawk, nope. Still got numb bum, especially around my inner and upper thighs. That's why I fit mine with the wider section on the front of the seat. I liked them so much I bought one for my terminally ill Mum for her lounge room chair to avoid pressure points. They sell a lot to Nursing Homes.
