120 engine removal

The easiest way is to get a mate to give you a hand, that way not only can you get the engine out but hoik it up onto the workbench in one easy move. Then have a few beers celebrating a job well done.

120 engine is way easier to remove than a 180. Take all the engine mounts off, gives lots of room.

Keith's suggestion is the easiest if you do not intend to strip the rest of the bike. Put the bike on the center stand, put a couple of long planks under the motor supported by jack stands, then just pull the bike on its center stand away from the motor. Easiest to do alone as well.

If you are going to lift a mostly stripped frame off the motor, that is easiest with two people, and with the engine laying on its left, primary chain case, side.

I have never tried with a chain/sling hoist as I don't have one, but sounds easiest of all.......

I'm astonished that there's a tool you don't have Paul :o

I wouldn't be without one. Less than $100 for a 1 ton chain hoist. Much cheaper than a hernia operation.
