thought we would be tidy thread up a bit

replaced old double coil (after John/IIS/Laverdamania new HT lead mod didnt work with the correct silicone,)

Replaced double with a TEK MP03 and still no sparks . The single old ND  centre plug sparks fine :-\

Any ideas?

Yip try connecting the working single coil instead of the non working double if it doesn't works time to check pick ups/ignition box. Best keep that razor blade out of reach

do you have a test light, check you have power to the dual coil, power is on all the time to the coil when Kill Switch is in "On" position and key is turned on

believe you have a standard system left on this thing ?
can also pull the plug off the black Bosch box and confirm you have power at the plug, cannot remember which plug hole it is that supplies power, been years since I have stuffed with a Bosch system
just try them all until your test light comes on, has to be at least one power source there, if no light, you have a broken connection somewhere

if you have power to the coils and the black box then it is a negative side issue which now narrows it down a bit
can be the triggers, black box still or broken wiring
I'd be checking the wiring to the triggers, many cases of that wiring becoming rotten with age and heat

Thanks Red,( I will head eventually to your system ,been saving already, just needed the old un to last a bit longer!)

forgot to mention the TEK double coil gets warm Red, but doesn t spark

okay, if it is getting warm then it must have power but am surprised it is getting warm so quickly
flick the damn ballast resistors, you know you want to

did you swap the black box connectors over to see if the coil is working ?

any of the forum more electrical savvy people more then welcome to say something here anytime y'all want to  :D

OK thanks Red,pointing to the cause and thanks to kind donations Merlin, one Bosch box had died thanks AJ for your time and spare double coil,up and running again
