Hi all, interesting to see the Howdi clutch mentioned again. Both my clutches failed at around 16,000 kms and I got a full refund. I still have the units so would appreciate a bearing reference number so I could maybe have a go at using them again.

I did quite a bit of research at the time and found that a Royal Enfield 500 had the same trouble and the 'fix' they introduced was a slight delay in the starter so that the engine was up and spinning before the sparks started - apparently the problem was caused by the engine kicking back on start up and putting the sprag bearing out of rhythm. I was told that the Ignitech ignitions have the capability to be programmed to introduce such a delay - maybe there's an opportunity to test this if Levo has an Ignitech fitted?

Regards

Nick :-)

Hey Nick
Have just got another sprag .This time I was lucky & got a part no which is...4260/e which is from a GM gearbox 4 speed auto that is used in Commodores  & also strangely enough in Hummer's , hope that helps. Also your idea about your ignition you would have to ask Red that question as mine is a different ignition .

Hey Andy,

Problem solved - once I have one of my triples up and running (hopefully before the world has run out of fossil fuel) you lend me your Ignitech and I see if the Howdi lasts more than 16,000 kms with the built in delay.

Wish everything in life was so simple.

Nick :-)

so how many non running triples have you got now Nick, any of them working at all??
sound like you might need assistance
