For Sale: Extremely rare early Laverda 1200T – #7 off the production line (Frame/Engine LAV.12001007) – £10,000

Due to retirement I’m reluctantly considering selling one of my classic motorcycles. This is a very early 1200T (possibly the oldest surviving example), frame and engine number 1007, the 7th bike off the production line.

  • Completely rebuilt by renowned Laverda specialist Grant Duguid (full details and photos of the work available)
  • Previously owned by Alan Cudlipp (2019–Sept 2025)
  • Show winner and well-known bike on the Laverda forum – anyone active there will recognise it
  • Rebuild mileage: 10,995 – current mileage: 13,259 (only 2,260 miles since the complete rebuild)
  • I have added around 850 miles since purchasing it in September 2025
  • The bike is in superb, near-as-new condition and has been very lightly used (a couple of runs in September plus a few recent outings)
This is a genuine, well-documented early 1200T with outstanding provenance and mechanical history. It rides and looks superb – a real piece of Laverda history.

10955Complete rebuild by Grant Duguid at LG Express, including:

Frame
- checked, braced, blasted, primed and powder coated. New headstock and swinging arm bearings. New steering lock. Wheels - checked, blasted and powder coated. New wheel and clutch drive bearings. New tyres and tubes. Polished stainless steel mudguards and chromed brackets. Forks and yokes stripped, polished and rebuilt, new oil seals and 10wt oil. Stanchions re hard chromed. Ceriani shocks fully restored with new damper rods, seals, powder coat, chrome, decals, 10wt oil.
Engine (matching number crankcases) - stripped, vapour blasted, cleaned and rebuilt - crank stripped, checked and rebuilt - new bearings, 2” oversize pistons, new Omega pistons and rings, new cam bearings and seals, new clutch, bearings, seals, chains, guides, gaskets. Upgraded 10mm oil pump. All external covers polished. Crankcases laser welded to repair damage. New oil cooler hoses. New primary cover gasket, new valve seats, guides honed.
Carbs - stripped and ultrasonically cleaned - new floats (PHF250), slides (PHF 60/2), needles (PHF K1), needle jets (PHF AB265), idle jets (PHF 55), main jet (PHF 130), diaphragms, gaskets, fuel hoses and clips. New inlet rubbers.
Brakes - calipers and master cylinders stripped, cleaned and new pistons, seals, fasteners, nipples and HEL hoses. Ferodo Platinum discs. New Moto Officina pads. New brake light switches.
Electrics - Igitech programmable electronic ignition, Shindengen reg/rec, NGK coils, new plug caps and NGK B9ES plugs. Kawasaki 250W alternator conversion.
Complete new wiring loom, fusebox and connectors, new CEV indicators and Volibell horns. Refurbished headlamp and new tail lamp. Rebuilt switchgear, refurbished clocks and mounting brackets. New Motobatt battery, new starter motor relay (fuse type).

Bodywork - petrol tank blasted to base metal, primed, painted and lacquered; internal tank.liner applied. Original sidepanels, ducttail (and carbon fibre inner), all painted and lacquered. New badges. Seat base repainted and recovered with original pattern Eldorado cover. New fuel cap and Orlandi type fuel taps.
Exhaust - rechromed original downpipes and collector box; new chrome silencers, new stainless steel clamps. Rechromed standard ‘bars and various clips, brackets, etc. New 530 chain and sprockets. New cables throughout (Venhill).
