does anyone out there have a speedo in MPH for my 1980 Jota? the one I have is really nice and works well, but it's in KPH. I need something in really good shape as the bike is well nigh perfect. I'm not able to do the conversions while riding, I know I'm going fast but not how fast! I'm in SC usa in case it matters.

CB-faces (in the Netherlands I think) do new faces - simply swap the km one for miles ... does involve a bit of work to unbezel the bezel and replace (also available new from the same supplier).

They do.
They don't service instruments anymore but sell parts.

Well if you are doing 100kph on your speedo it's about 60mph. That's easy enough to remember although it might be cheaper to buy a new speedo than pay the speeding fines when your mental gymnastics fail. The later speedos are different to the earlier ones I believe, the cable enters at a different angle.

Pete Bond is the guy for clocks, I had him restore a couple for me in the past and amazing work, he can change the face for you so it reads in mph ( but the distance is still in k's) or convert the whole thing to mph.

just to clear up any mis-conceptions, I have no desire to remove my existing clock and send it away to be modified in any way. I ride this bike several times a week, so having no speedo for weeks is not an option. However because I live in the USA (I'm actually from Manchester UK) I want a speedo that reads and counts in miles. I simply want to swap them out on the bike. I will retain the original KPH speedo in case I ever sell the bike, which is unlikely but you never know.

Hi Mark
you could always just stick little lines on the face of the speedo to show 30/50/70 etc I suppose....
Ive seen a few imports with overlay faces on the outside of the clock cases
