I saw an old GS Suzuki, with what looked a very big headlight. after a little research it seems it had a 9" headlight, or 230mm which would be the same size as the very rare and expensive 3C headlight.

Is this an option anyone has tried?? would the bucket fit??obviously not for the rivet counters...

Im using a large 230mm headlight from a Yamaha XJ on my 3C. Works a treat. The bucket of the XJ headlamp has also 3 openings in the rear, but much smaller than on the Suzuki thingy. The openings came in handy for passing the wiring through. It also features a different lens then the Suzi one on fleabay, branded Koito, not Stanley. You might consider that the lens in the fleabay add is not the one originally fitted to this headlight.
The XJ headlight has some rubber supported mounting holes at the sides and sits on the XJ originally in a kind of subframe. It therefore needed some additional fixture to keep it in position on the 3C mountings.

Hi SmaryV11 not all 3C's had the now all so exclusive 200mm Bosch headlight the oil cooled models mid 1974 on had the more common 180mm light which is much easier to obtain.
What number is your bike??
