I want to know which the correct clock face for a 3CL.
One clock face has the Laverda logo and the other doesn't so I have no way of knowing from the one I have.
Gut instinct says they should not have the logo, but as the clocks need freshened up I have the opportunity to get either style done.

So, anyone know which is technically correct?

1977 year bikes have the logo type Grant at least the ones I have had did.

My 76 3CL has no logos.  My brother's 75 3C has logos.  Both bikes have their original clocks.

Maybe it's just pot luck depending what arrived at the factory in the NipponDenso shipments from time to time.

Cheers,
Cam

My '75 3C has logos and my '78 1200 had no logos, so maybe there was a period in between when stocks were used up.
Hmm, guess I can do whatever and it would still be right then.

I've never seen a pre-77 bike without logos unless the clocks had been changed but I suppose it could happen. If I ever see an early bike without the logos I always tend to be suspicious (rightly or wrongly) that it has been down the road and had the clocks or a clock replaced.

Your gut is crook, my 76 3CL had Laverda logos from new. Photos taken before refurb.

My gut is often crook, usually after a curry or chilli.
I will go with whatever I have in stock when I get round to it, which at the moment is logo-less.

Thanks to all for input.

My 79 Monty had a logo one one & no logo on the other & they were original to the bike, the high beam warning light was red!

they were really scabby & the damping was shot so I traded them with Neil Williams a few years ago for some later ones in much better health....

the logo was not present when the 1200 was released in OZ in '78, my '76 3CL came with blue faces, my '74 SF came with green faces, both were Australian delivery.
