G'day Drikko
If you're interested in buying it, here's a few observations:
Advertised as a 1976 3CL, but...
Has a post-79 frame with forward leaning shocks.
Thick web wheels also appeared in 1979.
Drilled rear disk (after 1980) and solid front disks (before 1980).
Sticker on the handlebar clamp appeared after 1978.
Un-stayed front mudguard is after 1977.
Owner doesn't give an engine or frame number, but if the engine is 1976, it's certainly a later frame. The mixture of drilled and un-drilled disks indicate that the front end is earlier than the frame.
Other oddities:
Looks like Marzocchi forks with Ceriani stickers - evidence of a confused owner?
What's that bracket on the front down-tube (just under the tank) for? Maybe the missing horns?
70's Yamaha front indicators, CEV rear.
Aftermarket shocks. Koni maybe?
Still, a nice bike if you're not too anal about originality. Good price too.
It's clearly not a spawn of satan - it has no horns
Cheers,
Cam
