Yesterday, I went up with a couple of mates to Sandygate in the IOM to visit Ray Knight and present him with an anniversary card. Sadly Mick's not around for me to present him with another copy. Ray is now half way through his nineties, but still doing bloody well for his age.
Coincidentally, I was reminded by his delightful wife, Yvonne who herself is in her late eighties, that today is their 66th wedding anniversary! That's virtually as long as I am old...
Both Ray and Yvonne entertained us for around an hour recounting many a story from Ray's racing career, during which Yvonne accompanied him, in an old Bedford van, to many a far flung place to race. She often acted as lap scorer during the endurance races as well as general dogsbody. She recounted one time the boss of the Honda race team expected her to prepare food for 13 people, but she told him as she also had other duties so he would have to chip in and wash the lettuce. His response was, 'how do I do that'... He soon got a lesson in how to do it!

Wonderful to hear Andy.
I dont know Ray personally but i often see an R Knight in old race programmes from the 60s riding a variety of bikes and assume that its the same man.

Picture I believe is 1958 Silverstone and Ray is riding a Royal Enfield Meteor which is likely the faired bike #65 based on the primary case id.
