I noticed that the centre stand bolts on my 1973 GT rotated with the centre stand ... not good wearing the frame lug holes oval.
Dismantled it and there appears that there should be bushes inside the centre stand lugs themselves which were absent.
So I machined up some hardened 'top hat' flanged bushes to enable the nut to pull up tight against the flange with a spring washer.
Now I looked at the exploded diagram on the Laverda Paradies website and it appears that originals were parallel bushes.
I think my design is better because a parallel bush requires another large diameter hardened washer instead of an integral flange for the spring washer to fit against. One less part with a bit of extra machining and less possibility of loosening.
So ... is the Laverda part parallel or flanged ?
The answer will help me sleep at night !
