While home on a short R&R (now back in the land that time forgot) I was able to inspect the seat I got off of eBay for my 71 SF. I probably already know the answer but have to ask anyway. The seat weighs in pretty heavy, 4-5 kilo's, and looks like it has been modified with a metal plate molded into the fibreglass. I should have taken pictures but my short rotation back, coupled with beer and wine, I didn't think about it. Also, there is no LAVERDA log on the back of the seat at the hump, and I don't know if it was suppose to.

Does anyone have an original seat that they can get a few pictures of and post or email them to me? I have the original tank with knee pads.

I got a "standard" seat with my SF. It looks and feels 40 odd years old. Yes, it's very heavy. But no fibreglass. As Marnix says, it's a very heavy steel base and brackets.

Not the seat I normally run on the bike - also got a single hump seat which is due to go back on. So if you want pics of the base, let me know.

Thanks for the responses. One of the seats is the single hump, and any pictures would be greatly appreciated. The second seat is the solo seat with the lock box. If at all possible I could use pictures of the top and bottom. I am having the girlfriend send me pictures of both seats that I can post.
