77 Jota pin lines

Falloons book has a photo of an Oz delivered black and gold Jota. Freaking thick stripes and curved at the rear of the tank.

Tom, not my bike or my photo.

Davo, is that Imperial freaking thick or Metric freaking thick?

Oz was metric freaking thick from 1966 onwards.

They look way thicker in the photo in his book than the pinnies on my bike were. I would scan and paste a copy but I don't want to tread on any possible copyright toes, and I am sure mist here have a copy of the book anyway.

It would appear that moto Laverda had someone pin striping by hand in 1979, you have only to look at a 1200 anniversary to see that, and he definitely needed to go to Specsavers and have a strong drink before starting! as for the hand painted "30th" logo on the tank................................oh no lets not go there
I have a picture of it happening somewhere, it might have been one of the splendid Dutch clubs calendars that showed lots of factory inner working from a few years ago.
CLEM

This is my tank, the stripes are painted on the factory all the other stripes are homemade !!

As Brett well knows, we are the same age. Metrification happened when we were both 1st-year apprentices. So it was a shock, and optional to lots for a good few years.Old blokes never caught on, I still call stud timber 4 by 2s. Or in American 2 by 4s. I once had a conversation with the first female apprentice chippy about this. She said she had on idea what the old buggars were on about when they wanted a full eighth or a bear eighth taken off. Whats this eighths thing.

Not quite right there son....
in February 1966 we changed to decimal currency. It was not till July 74 that the change to Metric started.

Actually :- Although there was debate in Australia's first Parliament after federation to consider adopting the metric system,[2] metric units first became legal for use in Australia in 1947 when Australia signed the Metre Convention (or Convention du M?tre).

We went Decimal for cash on the 14th of Feb 1966, the day I started high school. Most industries were using the metric system by 1968 prior to official kickoff, and the conversion in the building industry was supposedly finalised by 1976. I still have some bottles of Hardy's Vintage port which is labelled in pints/fluid ounces and in millilitres. (strangely are also double closed - cork and screwcap).

I remember the day when I gave up giving a fuck!  was a Wednesday in June 1988.  Don't really miss it, although sometimes I do miss arguments.

If the man thinks he has the last word in and argument he is always wrong. It is actually the first word in the next argument.

My old man used to have a plaque on his fridge which stated "Women's faults are many, men have just two. Everything they say and everything they do."
