I am trying to adjust the lever position on the OEM rearsets of my Mirage but an having difficulty separating the two halves of the alloy lever. I have undone the threaded ring nut but the two halves do not want to come apart.
I realise there is 30yrs worth of corrosion holding the inner threaded tube piece in place. I have tried heating to about 150deg, and using a rubber mallet. I dont want to use a hammer for fear of damaging the threads.
Has any one found a trick for separating the halves?
