I have a question regarding my Alpino wiring, this bike originally had a rectifier, but being a basket case no rectifier came with the bike.
The alternator has only 2 wires coming from it does this mean it has only 2 phases?? What sort of regulator can I use with only 2 wires from the alternator/generator??
Bloody RGS had 5 wires and Alpino with 2 what the F

If you got a spare one like on the for the RGS you can use it no problems otherwise if you need to buy one then

Why not use one of these it will work with either and is cheap as chips and thus far is working a treat on the RGS being monitered with its flash digital monitor  now and all. ........just use the two phases and leave the third one empty ( third yellow on the reg ) or you could join one of the ones from the RGS into it ( just jokin son )

I use  one from a K series Beemer much more reliable have found.

They can be had for not a great deal of $$$$$$ a bit more than a reg but then again not a cheap chinese copy well maybe it is who would know......but they dont stick on so saves you in the long run and will fit the original mounting holes which is a bonus

Just dont tell the Rivet counter about any of this otherwise I too will receive a non conformity notice no doubt  :o

Or if you really desperate I probably got an old RGS type one the shed you can have but no gaurantee that the starter wont keep on starting after the button is released........

Exactly  the same item as used by Laverda.  :D  Early version had a metal housing, later plastic.  IIrc, the very last triples were fitted with the plastic version.
