Hi Guys
I've been trying to find a supplier of an assorted box of metric shims recently, without success.
The closest I got was a metric assorted size box of 250 but all 0.1 thickness.....Doh!!!!
I've tried engineering suppliers, bearing supplyers all want to sell boxes of 100 or 200 all the same size.
Anybody got any suggestions.
To shim clutch, tappetts, gear change etc.

<DIV>Hi Cam - of course it makes a huge difference - i bet you're the only one on this site that hasn't got a METRIC adjustable spanner<IMG height=19 src="/forum/msnemoticons/emwink.gif" width=19></DIV>

<DIV>Tim</DIV> <DIV>I don't what to know about your 300mm dick. Mine is much smaller <IMG height=19 src="/forum/msnemoticons/emsad.gif" width=19></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Phil</DIV> <DIV>I actually have a rare universal metric/imperial adjustable spanner. It has 8" written on one side of the handle and 200mm on the other! You have to turn it over depending on the type of bike you're working on - BSA or Laverda. Come to think of it, the 8" was probably stamped on it for Americans who don't know what millimeters are. <IMG height=19 src="/forum/msnemoticons/emwink.gif" width=19></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Cam</DIV>

Thanks Craig
Min order unfortunately this is the problem I am running into.Nobody seems to do assorted boxes.
Of course Imperial would be fine but the same problem applies min order or boxes of 200 all the same size .

Hi All
Well the best I've come up with is a company called Spring Master 01527 521000 will do small orders of metric shim washers to your requirements however min charge ?15. Ouch.

<DIV>Does it make much difference? What I mean is the gap you're trying to close up with a shim is not necessarily going to need a metric sized shim. Besides, if you measure an imperial shim with a metric micrometer you end up with the metric equivalent!!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Cam</DIV>
