Did someone mention no gloves?
I had a relatively slow lowside (non Laverda), hand got caught under the handlebar. Hate to think how much of my knuckles and tendons would have been smeared on the road…
I used to run kids fun enduros and rule was gloves must be worn, little ones loved dressing up like their daddies so no problem but older ones tried it on, I used to just say ‘take the skin off your palms your mum will have to wipe your bum’ worked everytime

Enduros and road racing are a different thing ....... but trials riders ( some of them anyway , including the top flight riders ) preferred not to wear gloves as they " reduced the feel " ........

I guess throttle control in trials is akin to handling a scalpel ...... whereas in enduros and moto x , it`s more like wielding a sledge hammer ......

I always wear gloves when riding ....... Weise summer gloves for the summer ........ Furygan`s D30 heavyweights for the winter commute ( although I don`t have to commute any more , thank Christ ) ........ and a pair of Blade ( whoever makes those ) gloves for normal riding ........

Most annoying thing with gloves for me is their affinity with gravity ........ stuff them inside your helmet and they fall out as soon as you pick it up ..... place them on the seat and they`ll fall off onto the ground at the first opportunity .........

I seem to spend half my time picking the bleedin` things back up again .........
