Best SF Electronic Ignition?

Taking the lead from eyeguy's SF2 thread, I'm tired of extending the holes in my Bosch point plate  :D and I suspect that after all these years, the spring on the advance retard unit is a bit tired as well.

Sooo.....what's the best electronic system for an SF (an SF1 in my case), from the perspective of:

Ease of fitment?
Ease of use and adjustment?
Reliability?
Manufacturer support / help if required.

Should I go the Pyranha / Newtronic route (I used a Pyrhana on a Guzzi back in the 80's - it was OK), and spend some money on a new advance / retard unit spring?

Or should I go the Sachse route?

What other options are there for an ancient SF1? - Any suggestions welcome.

Witt do one too? For twins? Decisions, decisions!

My starter clutch is one of the early 3(?) spring jobs. I'll miss re-springing it every year!

my preference is the Sachse for the ease of fitting the unit.
Turn engine over until you find TDC on the piston.
Turn ignition on and rotate the rotor until the TDC light on the backing board lights up.
Tighten the rotor.
Job is done.

Select the curve you want and ride away.

Red. Are they (Sachse) programmable from a computer or are there a selection of curves via dip-switches or such?

(Edit) Just found it on his website. Selectable curves. Sounds great for the 360deg motor.

Hi Bertrand,
I need to spend some time at home so I can draw up the ignition mounts for the SFC Electronica and then send to Volker.
Only hold up is that I have not been home very much at all lately, been in Aussie for 4 weeks in the last 7 months.

Plan on being home in around 3-4 weeks time and will try and get the design done this time.
Keep you posted.

Has anyone tried the Newtronic stuff. Not sure it can be adapted to a 750 but can't see why not.

I think we forgot to mention the ignitech (www.ignitech.cz). An absolutely great unit, fully (and I MEAN fully) programmable, cheap as chips that works in several Laverdas already since years. Can be combined with a Hall-sensor (which they can also provide) and a disk with cut-outs (which they can also provide, but which needs potentially some modifications to make it fit on the 750). Good service, even if the english is not perfect.

So - if you want easy fit - go with Sachse or Witt DMC2. If you want the highest grade of flexibility, the Ignitech will suite you.

Thanks everyone.

Looks like Sachse or Witt.

I'm not concerned about performance, I have other bikes that "do" performance, all I want is a smooth running bike with minimal maintenance.

Just something that smooths the bike out............and doesn't hole pistons!
