A question to those with a Bosch ignition switchs ie 1973 3C or SF 750s.
1, What is energised with the nail key pushed down.
2. What is energised when turned to position 1.
3. What is energised when turned further to position 2.

I am wiring my drummer and need some guidance on this switch

It's probably not Bosch but a face plate  LUCUS Ignition Sx. The Handle Bar Lucas SX's will handle the current at 12 Volts to command without the use of Relays and secondary circuits.

Don't rely upon the crappy Lucas Prince of Darkness Face Plate Ignition Sx- Replace it with a Strong Toggle Sx - PERIOD.

What's happening? You pull away from traffic or passing an 18 wheeler and your Ignition cuts out?

Believe me I've taken that Lucas Ignition Sx apart filed, cleaned and greased it too many times to know it's a piece of CRAP.

If as you say even it's a it's a Bosch Ignition SX- Just replace it with a Heavy Duty Toggle Sx for your Ignition and separate toggles for your lights ;o)

I don't know whether I'm too old were I remember Lucas and Bosch made Starters and Generators but, in my opinion, only Lucas made combination Handle Bar Switches for Motorcycles back then.

Yes Bosch made Coils and Points but Combo Motorcycle Handle Bar Switches and Keyed Ignition Switches pror to 73 - Probably  NO.

I present this senereo to our UK and German Members, whom may have a better light on the subject, as it's interesting to me.

Hi Ron know its definitely a Bosch switch but I am talking about the ignition switch not the handlebar switches, the reason I asked the question is I am trying to understand the purpose of the blue wire feeding the ignition stop relay when its only on the parking light circuit??????????????

Here is a picture of the switch Ron I am not sure if they were on the early SFs but assume they were on SF2s
