Brembro 4 spot pads

The front pads are getting low on my bike and I will need some soon. How do you distinguish what type of caliper I have, seem to remember 2 differant bolt spacing mentioned. These calipers are acting on std 280mm drilled Laverda discs so what recomendions are around with pad type.I bought these new so they have OE pads, pretty happy with the way they have worked, except for one occasion where I was caught out on a massive thunderstorm in crazy rain and they didnt handle that to well.Normal rain has been fine. Keen to avoid a past experience with 2 spot calipers. I bought a set of Brembro pads that absolutely didnt work in any type of rain, swopped them after a couple of months for another set, same Brand Brembro but from a different supplier and they were 100% better allround.Never did find out why.I asked at the time for there BEST pads at the first shop and maybe got RACE grade that needed a lot more heat, dont know but thats my best guess.Happy to hear theories though.Be good to get some traffic on this, the sites been a bit sleepy lately.

Hi Ken the mounting bolts the the adaptor are 40mm apart, the calipers are  gold coloured and its going to take a bit to get a pic.Cameras battery is flat.

Not sure the mounting bolt spacing for caliper to fork leg has any relevance to pad size.
If they are the universal 30/34 piston type 4 pot calipers then the key issue is if the caliper has a single pin or double pin mounting system for the pads. Easy to check by looking at the caliper.
My 4 pot calipers have a single mounting pin and the have 40mm spacing for caliper to fork leg.
The 4 pot calipers on the Motodd I just restored has double mounting pins for the pads but has 65mm spacing for caliper to fork leg.

My Motodd has the 65mm spacing 2 pin calipers. You should be able to buy pads from any of the pad manufacturers if you not keen on the original brembo pads.
Just order the single pin pads. I brought mine from Metal Gear when I brought the disc from them. Had to use their pads to have the warranty on their discs.

Many pads available for single pin 40mm mount 4 pots- the calipers were used on Ducati 916s and various Guzzis eg Sport 1100.  When I had the 4 pot/original disc combo I liked the EBC Kevlar organic pads (FA 095) which gave plenty of feel and power- used the same type when I went to EBC discs when I put the GSXR wheels on.

When i had CI Rotors i ran Bendix MA 66 single pin pads , worked fine wet n dry. Took some wearing out  :o  so a little harsh on the rotors perhaps .
As Reggie said the organic pads seem to be the go now.

Now i have Metalgear stainless rotors so went with a set of their recommended pads as per Rob  ;)

I have been using Lucas/TWR ceramic/kevlar compound (CRQ) for a while.  These work extremely well, wet or dry, and don't need an excessive amount of heat to get working.  Wear is certainly an issue, they last only half as long as specific road pads, but performance is well worth it.  No disc wear to speak of.

Brembo part no is 07BB1535 for the 30/34 single pin and work well....the last two digits refer to friction grade and is the highest available in their organic ('carbon ceramic') range.
