Dropping the arse end off my motor I notice how the camchain and tensioner blade come in contact metal to metal. Think I might bend the end slightly.
An interesting angle not often seen

Be sure your cam chain tensioner blade has a slight bend at the end...this is a picture of the blade from my 3C as removed from the engine original bend on the tensioner blade from the factory..I replicated the bend on the new tensioner blade prior to installing.

Hi Rob

why is the motor out and apart again?

yes, the bend in the end of the cam chain blade is factory, the new blade need to be bent.

Hi Paul,
Check out the topic in the Tech section titled "doesn't feel right" all will be explained, though the cause is still a mystery!!
Not happy about having to delve into the G/box again after a rebuild 3000 kays ago!!

Rusty, thanks for the photo, will use it as a guide to bend the blade. How many of you will now be checking your blade for that bend now??

All guides should have some radius as chain doesnt run straight
technically its called catina (spelling may be wrong).

Watch GP machines the chain runs in a wave and the best tensioners
guide the chain in that wave away from the sprocket.

Basically the chain will try to follow the arc of the sprocket.

Goin for a lie down now
