When did the deeper web cast wheels get fitted to a Jota

In 79 some bikes had both. I can only assume the factory was using up whatever was left in stock.

Ok a friend is interested in a 79 reg Jota angled rear shocks deep web cast wheels but painted gold . mine is a 79 reg painted gold but manufactured 78 shallow web wheels upright shocks . I understood the only year gold was used was 78

correct on the 78 gold Tetley.Heard it wasn"t popular at the time,I rather like it compared to silver.

I have only ever seen one Jota in my area it was a 78 and a brand new gold one an unknown quantity to most of the local bikers only seeing them race around Croft circuit . Is there any chance the bike my friend is interested could have come out of the factory like the description.

Probably easier to ignore reg year and look at frame/engine number - dealer stock wasn't always quick to move!  1979 model year (Sept 78 - July 79) Jotas run from 6190 - 6603 according to Ian Falloon. Silver frame; angled shocks; chrome grab rail in place of lifting handle on frame; thick web wheels; BTZ (coil) ignition. UK bikes were usually orange - other countries differed.
