Clutch cover

A mate has just bought his Mrs a 696 Monster and noticed a slight leak from the square lid on the Hydro clutch master,it has a small notch on the lids edge and thats where the tiny leak is.Is this notch there to equalise atmospheric pressure,my guess, anyone have something similar thats done this.Nice bike that suits those with ducks disease, low seat hight but a stupidly long reach to the bars, higher bars with more pullback is on the way.Watching her attempting to get her  weight inside when cornering was funny, she almost has to let go of the inside bar to tip in,her arms are not long enough to reach the bars

My wifes was doing the same. Had it checked under Warranty and has been fine sine. They claim not to have found anything wrong, just cleaned it and put it back together.

a lot of people with 695's and 696's wind up replacing the clutch slave cylinder with a much better quality aftermarket item, eliminate the recurring problem entirely. Ducati has a "touring" bar for the Monster that solves the riding position issue, although local to me Ducati dealer's charge about $200 for the bar, while similar aftermarket items are $60 and less, but don't have "Ducati" stamped on them.

Yep I have read about the 3 or 4 aftermarket slaves, with reduced lever pull buts its the Master cylinder lid thats leaking. We went looking for better bars and for me the ones on the GT retro twin were the best and cheapest option, you need 9 inchs to mount the switch gear and dirt bike bars don't have enough length to do this plus the Renthal distributor does not import road bars with enough hight. With a high fat tank shape its had to get what is needed so he went with Ducatis city bars, wait for it,close to $400 for the kit including longer clutch and brake hoses and longer switch wires.Expensive but typical these days,
