Clutch Master Cylinder

I need a  clutch Master until I get a proper replacement. Anybody have a recommendation, I prefer to get one with M10x1.00 threads so I don't have to change the clutch line...looks like lots to choose from on eBay but don't need 3-4 before I find the right one :D

IIRC Suzuki use 10x1.0 threads and 15mm[5/8] would be about right. The Ducatis use a 13mm with the same thread.would make the pull a bit easier at the expense of a bit less travel.

I am using a Ducati 13mm master on my 81 Jota, works great.
Tried a 12mm first, clutch drags so went to 13mm.

am also using 13mm Brembo clutch master on the Jota and the 1000 SFC - works just great.

but make sure your slave cylinder is working good and the push rods are long enough.

mid 80's Triumph, work well, the thread is the same, but its (sort of) on the front not the side, I adapted the original hose for JP's bike by using the tee piece for the brakes from the front fork as an elbow with two ports blanked off, this was temporary of course,  while the original brembo one gets repaired (not easy) but I liked the conversion so much that i will do it permanently on TOG with a hose made up to suit , which realy is not hard.

While I am at it, i would like to do the hose union extension mod on the slave cylinder, are you listening Red? I would like the kit of bits to do that to three  covers, are you going to make some more?

Thanks for all the replies maybe I should just consider it a replacement rather than a temporary fix...after looking at the eBay choices the reality is that there aren't as many as I originally thought but I should find one pretty quick.

"gold ones are rare nowadays, but black ones should be fine to find."

Are you sure lothar, and do you mean Brembo round capped ones?, as far as I know they are very hard to find in good condition, and command a very high price when they come from a breaker, which a used one will have done, and to find a new one ? I would like to know from where.

That's great news Clem - I always use a cable clutch with extended lever at g/box end on all my Laverdas - will have a couple of m/cyls coming up for sale in the new year. - Regards - Phil

Hi Clem,

sorry - I was thinking about the modern ones with the separate reservoir.  :-[

After reading the above you all got me worried,  I'm after the rubber boot (dust cover?) that covers the clutch slave cylinder, the original part is Brembo (13.3976) is there an alternative replacement part, I have looked at some of the rubber covers from the older drum brake cars, they appear the right shape but are too small. any suggestions?
regards Ian. Sth Australia.

I bought a batch of then a few years ago when they started to get short (which they no longer are) so if you need one .....

Thanks for the info, guess its back to that order and wait game, bit frustrating when you get a few days off, and its a really good time of the year to order stuff. this is what happens when you start cleaning bits.

Ian you can still use your bike without it what model is it on?

Ian has one of those rare 81 Jota's
(if you count the 81 Jota's and 81 Jota engines in my workshop you would think they are more common then Ford Falcons)

Ian, just sent you an e-mail, we have the dust covers in stock

I have about 600 mt's of dirt road before I hit the bitumen, and am a little cautious regards dust getting into the system. While I have the inner cover of I am replacing the final drive with a 530 chain and hoon sprockets as well (has the 630 set currently). All parts on the way.
