The truth is that a lot of "SFC" owners have no idea of what they own. A lot of honest people have paid big money for replicas because they didn't research the bike properly. And so the "myth" is passed on from one owner to the next.
Even auction houses don't know what they're selling. I had an "SFC" taken out of an auction some years back when I proved to the auctioneer that the machine was a replica. And a very bad one at that.

Fulfilling a desire is an excellent means of taking money from people. Prostitutes and pimps know all about that.

Yes, but raised up with and by the values where a handshake and confidence ruled business, it is sometimes hard to understand and cope with "modern" standards of trade.
Luckily I can name a lot of friends as consultants to prevent me by mistakes and I paid just a little mug money for them
