i'm tempted to change curve on the DMC2 of the 120 jota

questions are:
- is it just a matter of dialing the little knob onto the # of the desired curve?
- or is there more to it?
- can i change curve without needing to adjust carburation? or any other parameter?

thanks
eric

Changing the ignition curves is simply a matter of turning the knob.... you can even do it with the engine running.

You'll need to decide for yourself if your carbs need adjusting!

Generally, change of ignition advance curve won't call for much, if any, carb adjustment.  At least not if you don't venture into extremes!

Curve #7 seems to work OK on most stock 120s.

Hello
I know Wolfgang rec a progressive curve something like a 10 for hi comp engines I use this for my 78 180 Jota and it runs very well from low down right through the rev range

Kind Regards

whilst i'm at it, what DMC2 curve is recommended for a fairly standard 500?
first series alpino with stock dellortos, pistons and cams
want to keep it easy and tractable all the way through the revs
any advice?

Laves, at the moment I'm using curve 6 in my Alpino. Steady idle at 1,200 rpm and smooth running while putting through city traffic. Runs great whatever rpm you're at but being only a "lowly" 500 and saying it pulls like a freight train might not be the best comparison.
