DAM Easy Pull clutch

My friend invented hidraulic clutch here is site http://www.tcomponent.si/ita/t-clutch.html only in italian and slovenian language
So now why is this clutch so special because master and slave cilinder are both in clutch lever assembly so you just connect your existing cable.

If it's as you've described then I'm struggling to see the benefit of this?  If it uses the original cable then surely nothing has been gained other than a different (and far more complex) means of turning a force at the end of the lever into a force in the cable.  It has all the downsides of both the hydraulic (seals, bleeding, leakage) and cable (friction, stretching, terminations) systems combined?

I'm dubious about it... I think it would be all too easy for Marq Marques to dislodge it with the end of his handlebar when he goes in way too deep in another of his over-optimistic and ultimately fruitless attempts to pass.

That's exactly the reason we have one installed on The DAM Racer!
When Drymsby tries one of his wild manoeuvres on me (allowing I have to be in front in the first place, and not being lapped) he'll realise immediately that it cannot be dislodged, he will then think twice about the veracity of the attempt, give me the opportunity to close the door on him, and he will just have to use methanol power to get me on the straight.

So just do it Batto, buy him a present for New Year....

How stupid... you owe me Pina Colada

....and a head gasket...

and a meth triple...and that's all I need.http://www.laverdaforum.com/forum/Smileys/SoLoSMiLeYS1/kiss.gif

In response to your puerile silliness I have created a perpetual trophy for the Laverda Forum Thread Hijack Champion. You can share it with whomever you chose....there's plenty out there:)

I was thinking about doing something at the handlebar end but with a new clutch cable and better cable route I decided it wasn't worth it.  It's still too hard to use in London but as long as clutch use isn't too prolonged then my hand can take it.

Anyyyyway

These are old (and dirty) V brake levers.  There are removable spacers under the mud.  The concept is simple.  Pull the lever and you get lots of cable pull initially to bring the brakes to the wheel then the roller slides down to the stop and the force increases (at the expense of movement).

Soooo.....do clutches get heavier the more the cable is pulled....are hands stronger the more closed they are?
Can the lever and/or the lever clamp not be modified to pull less cable? Would a rolling cam mechanism make things better.

I need a mill.

The cable clutch on my Pantah as right up there with my 3c,BUT its bottom lever is right up against the case and cannot be lengthened.I got the tip to use an Aprilia Dogleg lever and perch,it lessens the pull by a good 30 or 40% to an acceptable level,eg no massive cramp if used on your typically good and tight bike road.Thats a gear change every 30 seconds or so for an hour or so.All the riding I do is to head to that kinda road,as ofter as possible.BTW you need to fo some fettling to get the bigger nipple to fit.Interesting that pushy pic,the Aprilia perch has a better leverage ratio than std,but I don't think having the pivot vary during operation would be worth the complication but its a great experiment to try.Have at it please. There are throttle twist grips that do the variable cam bit, slow off idle and fast after that that help tame abrupt acceleration in the off road world and get rave reviews

Hi Greg,
Unfortunately i have already cut my cover, but i found the extra leverage returned a lower amount of travel.  I removed the lever and returned to the original, and found the extra travel much better for smoother operation.

The first 300 km before lunch is fine, after lunch calls for clutchless changes......

What are bennefits??? Clutch lever become much easier to press (softer clutch lever) thats all. Clutch was inventet for motocross where you use clutch in turns all the time, I makes clutch really soft. And many italian and slovenian motocross racers use this clutch without any problems or malfunction.

I mentioned this clutch because on my sf2 i use 3 original and 3 harder clutch springs and clutch lever became a lot stiffer (when i was using original springs my clutch was slipping a lot)
