The axle on 3C goes through a threaded sleeve-type shaft that bolts through the swing arm with a thin nut on the outside. You can withdraw the axle and remove the wheel while leaving the chain, sprocket and cush drive in place.
3CL doesn't do that. You have to disconnect the chain and pull the axle out, then everything comes out.

Nah. If you are right then my 76 3CL came with an 81 Jota swingarm.
