Grant,

just to clarify - you mean, weld up the holes for the steering stem and rebore them parallel to the fork leg holes? I suppose you could weld the holes for the fork legs and rebore them parallel to the steering stem but it would be twice as much work.

However, if you rebore the steering stem holes, do you then need to reface the bearing seats so they are normal to the steering stem axis?

I run marzo triples from a Jota on my SF2 and just love them, were ten years on it as a road bike first with 18" tyres, then with 17", were great with both wheels and much suit my riding, not that I had complaints with the angled std ones but the chance came so I tried them and loved it. It is a dream in corners, more neutral than the kickbacked ones. They now grace it as a racer and on that bike corner speed is all I have to fight with. SF ones had IIRC 65mm offset on the top clamp (plus the kickback) and the Jota ones 45mm but those SS ones look to have even less offset. I am waiting for a set of Ducati Ceriani 40mm offset clamps to turn up to put  on my Tip Bike which now has the 17"ers. Different strokes/yolks for different folks.
 
Parallel to the fork stanchions as that makes them parallel to the steering head.
It's the stanchions and steering head holes that are not parallel.
My forks now run parallel to the steering head.
Obviously bearing faces need to be flat.
