hoping someone can shed some light.....
I'm going to be using a original 3c drum on a 3cl frame. Wolfgang and Paul confirm that the swingarms are different from disc to drum.. drum being wider. Has anyone done this conversion? I'd like to use the 3cl swingarm as it's been braced and really nice. I can cut and weld if needed but I don't have a drum brake model to compare so have no idea how much modification if any, would be needed. Also would like to know the width of the drum brake swingarm Wolfgang has indicated that it's the same as on the 750SF as well. thanks

The width of the 3C and 3CL swingarms is identical!  Breganze 750s also.  Even RGS swingers are the same width at the wheel axle.  All have 242mm between axle lugs.

The difference between the 2 is the brake stay and the RH axle slot.  This is wider on the drum brake swinger to take the hollow sprocket carrier axle through which the wheel axle passes.

Bottom line, all wheels fit in all swingers, provided you get the brake tied up somehow and keep the axle from slopping around in the RH lug.

Only swinger that is wider is the 1000 SFC alloy job, which is crap anyway... >:D
