1983 MHR voltage regulator issues, it is fitted with the type that when the gen light is on it charges.. anyone know of an alternative regulator which would be more reliable and also work with the light. So they run two wires from the charging coils to the regulator but weird how when working the light comes on as long as the 2watt globe is not blown. Now wondering also if the wattage of the globe has an affect on the reg.. as this one is over charging like 17 volts..

Hey thanks will pass it on...not my bike.. but my buddies and am only trying to help him out as feel a bit indebted to him... as he was showing me some amazing roads in California ... around Placerville and then back via 49 and Salmon Falls Road... which is amazing... I was on the Executive and he was on his MHR... well the Executive never missed a beat but the poor old Ducati didnt make it... so had to make a mercy dash back to Sac for another battery so the Duc could limp its way back to Sac minus lights etc... so now just trying to help him out.
Oh well all is not lost at least my Exec is now getting some use whilst he sorts out his Ducati
