Duck tail rear view

This is what my duck tail looks like from the rear, the bit behind the light is rough fibre glass and not pretty.

Is this standard?

Nope - should be plain, shiny black plastic. But the plastic cracks with age and I imagine lots get reinforced with glass

I bought a carbon fibre one from Boba and had it sprayed and transferred...light, strong, shouldn't crack and indistinguishable from the original . Course it's hassle ensuring colour match, and getting transfers...

just spray the inner black with a spray can, would improve the look immensely.

If you actually ride it , they tend to crack around the screw mounting holes....don't know if using rubber washers might help...mine broke in the end. Agree with Paul...an easy cosmetic short term fix.
