Earth connection improvement?

I've seen a modification on Laverda where all earth connections were centralized in one single plate of metal (bolted to frame). Is there any other reasons for this than just convenience?

I wouldn't say it was convenient but it does give you a good chance of having a good earth especially if the earth lead from the battery goes there

Good earthing is also ensured if one uses star washers between the connector and the frame. The frame is a good conductor so multiple points are ok, but one needs to be sure of a good connection to the engine sufficent to handle the starter draw. I ran an 8ga. cable from a lower engine stud to the frame just to be sure. An extra wire from the headlight bucket to the frame is a good idea too.
