Emulators and progressive fork springs

Has anyone here come to a conclusive solution to Variable springs rates for our Breganzie Ceriani Forks?

I wear out front tires at about 3 times faster then my rears on my SF.

Whatever tire I choose to replace it with depending air pressure, I always flush and change the the Fork Fluid with whatever Viscosity I feel will work.

That's quite unusual Ron. Normally it's the other way around. Even if your suspension is not performing as it should, I don't think it would explain that wear rate. You must be accelerating very gently and braking like a demon  :D

What tyre pressures do you normally run?

I went the Race Tech route with my 83 RGS and I've never looked back. Granted, I did a fairly comprehensive overhaul, with Race Tech emulators and new springs (required), and new fork tubes. I also had the inside of the fork legs anodized to provide a better wear surface since the leg is in effect the bushing. I also put Race Tech G3-S shocks with adjustable ride height and rebound. None of it's cheap, but wow does it work nicely, and far better than what came out of the factory. Is it necessary? Probably not, but I'd never go back to stock!

Ceriani were a far better fork than the Marzo's in stock form.

Love my Ceriani beaters (You can almost dance on them) - Very predicable and don't wear out as long as you clean them every 2 or 3 years by which time you need a new front tire.

Fitted progressive (Wirth) springs into my Darmah forks recently and went out with Terry for a blatt around the Hills on Sat to test them out.. Bike ran a treat: felt as though I was floating over coarse surfaces (road repairs and minor imperfections etc) yet still taught and well damped on proper bumps: rock solid cornering. Alas, not enough static/dynamic sag and so too too much preload and, unfortunately, the 'correct' springs seem to be a little too long for the forks (was a bitch to thread and re-fit the fork caps  ). ::) ::)

Either way, it's a positive result and I am looking forwards to trying some out on the Mirage..
I ordered Wirth springs for a S1 and measured them at something like 5kg per mm which is less than the 7.5kg/mm springs that came out. I was hoping for a stiffer spring (requiring less preload) but, instead, got a weaker spring that will require lots more preload. I will not be using them

Am pretty sure you can order what you want and they will supply it.
