Engines suitable for 750SF frame

The current 650 Kawa twin should fit - injected, balance shaft etc.
I built one of them which made 96hp at the wheel until a dyno operator let it get too hot
and while cooling off it dropped an exhaust valve insert....and the owner rode it like that
But not for long....

I always wondered if the Triumph 675 engine would fit. THAT would be a great combination... that said, the 675 has a very good chassis already, so why not buy one...

I suppose you'd call that a Lavertri ?, don't think I like that !.

mmhh - Maybe TriVERDA is a better fit... Thinking of it - it really sounds... should protect that name... worldwide...  :o
:D :D :D

rather than teh BM F650 engine you could consider the Aprilia Pegaso 650?

It's mostly the same rotax engine as the BM but it's got an extra valve & the prillies seem to be cheaper (& quicker) than the BMs.

Mind you, would you want to own an Apriverda?

I think Lothar was referring to the BMW twin F650 GS engine, not sure whether was what was proposed originally. Certainly puts out way more power than the single and sounds better too.

If you want any dims from that motor, I've got 4 but you'll have to buy the bikes as well. The 650 twin is a detuned 800cc motor displacing ....yes you got it.....800cc and puts out 70 BHP according to the manual. The F800GS, presumably puts out more power but is the same motor.

I dont think I'd waste my time putting in the BMW 650 single, its a noisy thing and gutless to boot, kind of like owning a Porsche 911 kit car with a beetle engine. But thats just my opinion..watch you dont get whipped at the lights by an Aprilia 125  :D

Yes, meant the 650 (or better 800) twin, which is - if I remember right - a tripple with a missing piston (con rod is there, connected to a balance mass).

And the 800 had an exhaust that was designed by someone who knows what he is doing... www.sr-racing.de (I was there when he had the BMW Prototype in his shop, hidden under a cover, which I lifted gently...  :D). Only difference to the SR-Racing exhausts is that the silencer is all welded instead of riveted. That's why it does not sound like if it comes from BMW but really nice.
