after todays ride I noticed on both headers cracks where the exhaust connect to the head,it became very apparent due to the noise, it is a stainless steel system of unknown origin.bike has only 500 miles since total rebuilt,I wonder if the cause was related to sitting in traffic and building up temperature it also started misfiring on both cylinders ,it has sachse electronic ignition. After shutdown it ran normal as usual,Soo I'm wondering do I reweld the cracks and see? I hope some one been through this before? Jack W 750sf(love it).

The most likely cause is vibration. Stainless is less vibration tolerant than mild steel.
Does your system have the crossover in front of the engine? If the pipes are individual all the way and rubber mounted at the back it allows a lot of resonant vibration along the length. A rubber mount to the lower frame (behind the lower rear engine mount) would help if that is the case.

Weld it and see.
Could of course be an electrical problem.
To avoid stress/vibration related exhaust fractures, always mount the whole system loosely, then tighten from front to rear, adjusting as you go to find the most stress free position.
