For Anzac Day

Origin

"Il Silenzio" it derives from the "Silenzio militare" of the Italian army, whose origin descends directly from the signals for trumpeters in the barracks in the 19th-century regulations for the infantry of the Kingdom of Sardinia.

I did what I usually do, get up early to get a parking spot at Harbord Diggers Club to watch the F-35 flyover of Sydney's major march in the CBD. They get big crowds at that ex-servicemen's club for the dawn service. The flyover starts in Newcastle and passes over approximately 15 services around NSW. Other aircraft pass over dozens more. Anzac services around Australia

I've always liked that bit of music. First heard it when I was a kid and one of my big sister's boyfriends had it on a vinyl record.

The ANZAC remembrance motto "lest we forget" always reminds me of a kid I knew in high school. He thought it was "let's we forget" which has quite the opposite meaning. I suspect he was a bit dim.
