Fork brace

Have had a Telefix brace fitted to the Motodd since 1986, never been a problem with fork operation in over 100,000kays.
For 96,000 of those kays I had a Motodd anti-dive fitted and reckon a fork brace was required.
Reckon that the stanchions on the triples are way too long to be unsupported.

Agreed but a fork brace doesn't really support the stanchions as such, that's the problem.

That's why the solution I chose doesn't need a fork brace. It effectively shortens the unsupported free length of the stanchions by 6cm.
Works very well.
The next stage as Keith said would be a larger diameter front axle but standard wheels don't have a lot of meat to accept larger OD bearings and not sure if it would be possible to have larger ID at the same OD.

I think the perfect solution is an addition of Grant's headstock extension AND a fork brace. The head stock extension mainly reduces the stanchions flexing, but still they can twist. Might be that an enforced mudguard mount as Phil suggested works already perfectly, not sure. I will find out as soon as my Motoplast will be ready to ride, as it has the longer headstock, too, and will get an enforced mudguard holder, as that is the only option I see with M1R forks currently.

Marzo forks on my Mirage 'walked' horribly until Red fitted the emulators and I've set them up even better in respect of sag and oil level/grade: no walking now (unless I run out of petrol again :-X).

Can't see a fork brace changing much. I've refitted fitted one to my Mirage but i have to admit it's merely cosmetic and I'll bin it presently as it hasn't added to the handling (worse if anything).

If you've done the above, have you considered swapping the forks out for another set (e.g. just borrowing a set off another bike) or sourcing a new pair of stanchions?

I like Phils brace.Seems to solve the problem of binding/damaging the sliders.
8mm you said ? I might try to make one, nothing to lose.

Paul came over this morning and dragged me away from working on the Motodd for a few hours so we could build your new front end for the Serb
is on a Courier on Monday morning
