Fork fluid change with emulators

I want to change my fork fluid,is the process the same as standard forks or do the emulators need to be removed and then fill the forks ?

It was emulators out when Terry Hays did mine,they used a grabber gadget bit like a snake catcher,or you can use a wire coat hanger with a hook bent into one end.Thats fully bottomed with springs out as well,pump the fork a bit to remove air bubbles.

Not as far as I am aware. The only installation article I have read just says to pump the forks while filling - springs and emulators in place.
