Front Sprocket - 1000

Hi team

What way does the engine sprocket go on teh splined shaft , shamfer of sprocket towards gear box or facing outwards ??

I ve looked at the manual (pictures are not that great) and cant tell, i was thinking the chamfer facing gearbox to sit a little closer so the lock washer can go on and turn easier

A good question, often asked.

If you find the new sprocket is tough to fit, do not hammer the new sprocket onto the shaft. They can be a tight fit.

I warm the sprocket in the oven, while the wife is out. Bake it to about 300/350*F

Once hot the new sprocket will go on easily. Use work gloves.

A hot air gun & gentle heat,after seeking advice, is good for off and on,easier than the oven.
