Gas tank disassembly

I have al old gas tank which I would like to take to be chromed.

No matter how much I look at it, I cannot find a way of dissasembling it without breaking it.

Can it be done? Any leads/tips?

It has no rubber seal. Is that available?

Do you mean remove cap and taps?

Taps unscrew, cap is a slide on/off, tank comes apart with a cutting disc.

How does it come apart?

Look where the cap fixes to the rear of the opening.
There are 2 small lugs sticking out and the cap fixing hooks over them and is held in place by spring pressure.
Gently ease up the fixing and the cap pops straight off.

If you mean the tank cap, it might be better and cheaper to buy new. They are available from the usual suspects but I get stainless ones here.
