Help! Jota cam cover

After a recent rebuild, I warmed engine up to 60degC in order to retorque head but the cam cover will not come off...it?s jamming on something inside. Yes, I?ve removed the entire rev counter cable with drive.
I?ve had it off before to check the valve clearances but don?t remember this happening then.
Anyone...?

There are 6 screws!
Is it sealed with silikon or anything else? Usually the rubber seal works well.

The worm drive for the rev counter can prevent the camcover from lifting off. Try turning the engine over by hand as you lift the cover up. Got an idea turning engine backwards works best, but I haven't had a coffee this morning yet and it's a long time since I worked on a 180?!

That description matches my problem exactly. I shall put it into gear and wind it backwards...although I?m going to have to warm it up again :(

It is probably the rev counter drive jamming in the cam cover.
When the cover is removed, strip and lubricate the rev counter drive.

Give the starter button a quick podge - et voila ;)
Remember to either ground the plugs or disconnect the ignition wires before doing so otherwise you run the risk of causing damage to your ignition if you do so with the plug leads off the plugs.. which one would assume you have done.

That did the trick!
Only one problem...the top thrust washer on the worm drive is worn away on one side...what could have caused this? There is no other obvious wear either on the cam cover or the worm drive spindle
