Well, my old trolley jack gave up the ghost yesterday, leaving my Corsa stranded on the bike lift (that's the Laverda content :-*)
It?s happened before and I?ve always managed to get it going again. But not this time. So, before I confine it (the trolley jack, not the Corsa) to the tip, any ideas?
(I?ve looked on Tinternet, but none of the advice I?ve found there has worked).
Using the activating piston, the ram won?t go up (no comments, please ?). But if I pull the ram out, it stays out (with the release valve closed). And goes back when the release valve is opened. So the ram seals would seem to be ok.
However, the actuating piston is just flopping about. The piston is sealed by couple of O rings that are located in the wall of its chamber. I?ve taken these out, cleaned them and flipped them round. And there?s no oil leak from around the piston, which there was before.
There?s oil in the chamber so I can?t see it being a priming problem. But what do I know?
And I?ve changed the oil, altho? I?ve no idea how much there should be in there. And bled it. And I've taken the overload valve out ... looked at it and put it back (what else is there to do?).
Any thoughts most appreciated.
Ciao
