Indicator switch wiring

Chums, initial problem of dodgy horns hopefully sorted as the wire at the back of the switch was down to last 2 strands. Re-soldered but then found wiring to back of indicator switch also close to failing. Took wires off, stripped back and tinned etc, then here comes the embarrasing bit, I'm pretty sure I've soldered them back on arse about face. Can anyone tell me which way round they go?, yes I know it's in the wiring diagram but I only want to do this once. The blue wire goes in the middle of the 3 points, when on the bike and looking at the switch which way round do the other 2 go?  ??? Cheers  Stuart

Stuart if the switch is still wired in you can simply bridge across the contacts to check which side flashes corresponding to how the sliding part of the switch will work. Don't need a wiring diagram for that. A good idea to clean off any corrosion across the terminals while you are at it.

Dunno what model Laverda you have (presumably a 79 Jarama). If it's any help, these are the colours for a 3CL ...

+ve to indicator switch (from flasher relay) = light blue
left indicator = black
right indicator = light green

Tippie is right though. It's easy enough to work out, especially if you have a multimeter.

Thank you for that, I realise it should be pretty easy to bridge/use a multimeter etc but although I'm better than I was, sparks is still something of a black art to me I'm afraid. I read John Wilson's stuff on ignition recently and had to go and have a lie down in a dark room :D Cheers  Stuart
