Jota clutch issue

After years of non use the clutch on my Jota was sticking.
I removed the clutch and indeed the plates were all stuck together.
I seperated them, lubricated them and put it back together.
The clutch then seemed to be operating in reverse (pull the lever in to drive engine) but even more oddly, I cannot remove the clutch basket which moves in and out 1-2mm when the clutch is operated.

There were no parts left over.
Also took of the clutch slave cylinder to ensure that no force applied to the clutch.
I stuck a small puller on the cush drive pillars and applied a small force to it.
I tapped it in all directions and it is still stuck fast.
Luckily the engine is coming out of the frame so that it the frame be repainted.

Is it possible thst the clutch throwout peg is misplaced and preventing the removal?

Is sounds like you may  have the plates misaligned and jammed and maybe they are keeping the clutch apart so you are not getting a connection through the main shaft.
If you cant get the drum off, the plates are the only thing that are in contact with it.
