Dear drumbrake 3C owners, I need your help:
A friend of mine is restoring a drumbrake 3C. He is looking for pix and measurement of the two holders which were welded to the frame to hold the seat in front. His 3C was modified to suit a 3CL seat and he wants to restore it to original condition as far as possible.
Ciao, Gert

I did measure the lugs once on my 3C *1651* (disc brakes, 38mm forks), see pictures below.  Not sure about theim being the same on the drummers, but probably very similar?

Hi Gert I compared those dimensions in the last post to my drummers and they are the same.
I would be interested in seeing some pics of your friends project drummer if you would PM them?
Regards
M.

Hi Gravelroad, many thanks for the measurements and the confirmation of Maurice. Here is a foto of the bike. It was sitting in a garage unstarted since 1982 and will be restored as near as possible to original condition.
Ciao, Gert

Very interesting Gert surely over some stage of that bikes life someone fitted the drum brake front end ????
A bit like the modofied 3CL seat and ducktail.
That did sound a bit arrogant Clem, I should have said I could have checked against one of the 3Cs !!!

Hi Maurice,

don't worry, its a drummer from 1973 modified with a 3CL seat and 3-1 and open bellmouth. Original 3-1-2 exhaust system is very rusty. Meanwhile I saw the Austrian papers and it was imported by Austrian Importer Lois Sulzbacher and registered in 1973. Austrian papers in the 70ies and 80ies came with a photo of the bike. Speedo shows 27.593 km, was sitting  in a garage since 1982. Correct and matching frame and engine numbers.
Only missing parts are:
1.) original seat
2.) exhaust system
3.) air filter box
4.) Tomaselli gas grip
5.) Lucas switch LH with clutch lever

So not much missing!
I would be very, very happy to find a drummer like this one!
Ciao, Gert

its only wanton, total, and complete envy Mo, one drummer and one disc brake SFC is all that I lack in my life!
