any idea why they did not put the correct fairing on it? I have the mould for the correct one, and a painter (Tom) and the coach lines ready cut.

Maybe he preferred a frame-mounted fairing for extra stability?
Maybe he just wanted that one.

The combination does not work for me either, but overall the bike looks to be in good condition, as far as the photos show.
 
If it was mine I'd ditch the fairing. The original TS fairing was also fugly, imho. but each to their own.
Nice looking 1200 though, mine looked like that once except it was a series1 and was red, no fairing, and had rearsets.
Doesn't look like that any more!!
 
Lovely but along with Dave I hope the thing gets riden. Too many bikes are restored and then used as art or worse still a pension fund.

I'll get me coat.
